Criminal Mischief – On March 17, 2016 at 6:07pm, Patrolman David Bowden responded to the area of Beachwood Blvd. and Compass Ave. after a motorist reported that a rock was thrown at their vehicle causing damage.  Upon the officers arrival, a juvenile female from South Toms River was located as the actor and was transported to police headquarters.  The juvenile was released to her mother and complaints are pending.

Burglary – On March 17, 2016 at 7:01pm, Patrolman David Bowden responded to a residence on Nautilus Street for a reported theft.  The victim was reporting that coins and stamp memorabilia were taken from the residence. The call originated from a citizen who found property/items in a near by wooded area which were found to belong to the victim.  As a result of further investigation by detectives a suspect was located and arrested.  The investigation revealed that the victim and actor had knowledge of each other.

CDS Arrest – On March 18, 2016 at 7:30pm, Detective Sergeant Dan Altman observed a female walking on Railroad Avenue, and had knowledge that she had an outstanding warrant from Tinton Falls.  Upon stopping the female and arresting her for the outstanding warrant, she was searched incident to arrest which revealed that she was in possession of 5 bags of heroin.  The female, Michelle Faronea, 39 of Beachwood, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic syringe.  The case is pending in court.

Theft – On March 20, 2106 at 5:24pm, Officer Gina Bruno responded to the Rite Aid store on Atlantic City Blvd. for a shoplifting complaint.  Upon the officers arrival she was met by loss prevention personnel who advised a female had shoplifted items totaling $26.97 and left the store.  The suspect was no longer on scene and detectives are working to acquire the store video footage.

Fraud – On March 29, 2016 at 3:25pm, Patrolman Phil Schena responded to a business on Route 9 for a fraudulent check report.  Upon his arrival, store personnel advised that a female was attempting to cash a forged and stolen check.  As a result, the female was arrested and processed at Beachwood Police Headquarters and turned over to Brick PD for additional follow up.

Criminal Mischief – On March 30, 2016 at 8:10am, Patrolman Phil Schena responded to the park on Cherry Street for a criminal mischief report.  Public Works personnel reported that upon checking the park they observed orange paint on the walking path, a bench and playground equipment.  DPW personnel worked to remove the paint and detectives located two paint cans which were collected as evidence to be processed.

CDS Arrest – On March 30, 2016 at 4:41pm, Sgt. Derek Mussari and Patrolman Keith Meissner were dispatched to the Rite Aid on Atlantic City Blvd. for a suspicious vehicle.  Upon their arrival the vehicle was located and the officers observed narcotics and drug paraphernalia in plain view.  Both occupants were arrested at that time and a search of the vehicle was conducted.  A total of 92 bags of heroin were located.  As a result, James Hastings, 23 of Lodi, NJ was charged with possession of cds with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Hastings was lodged in the Ocean County Jail on $50,000.00 bail.  The female occupant, Melanie Testa, 40 of Smithville, NJ was charged with possession of cds and possession of drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Ocean County Jail on $25,000.00 bail. The initial call was generated by a concern citizen.
