July 15 2015 thru July 21 2015

ARREST – On July 17, 2015 at 12:15 am, Patrolman Andrew Altman and Patrolman Chad Anthony were dispatched to the area of Cherry Street and Windward Avenue for three suspicious individuals.  Upon the officers arrival, two subjects were observed and attempted to flee the area.  Patrolman Andrew Altman stopped one subject identified as Nicholas Venditto, 19 years old from Beachwood.  The subject was charged with underage consumption of alcohol and hinder apprehension.  The second subject observed was not located.

MOTOR VEHICLE BURGLARY – On July 17, 2015 at 1:15pm Patrolman Adam O’Connor responded to a residence on the 1300 block of Longboat Avenue where a resident reported that a vehicle parked in the driveway had been entered sometime during the over night hours.  The resident reported that the vehicle was unlocked at the time and that nothing appeared to have been taken just that items were rummaged through.

FIRE – On July 17, 2015, at 3:32 pm, Patrolman Justin Apel responded to the area of the 1100 block of Longboat Ave for a smoke condition and possible fire.  Patrolman Apel located the source which turned out to be an open fire pit at a residence.  The Beachwood Fire Company responded and extinguished the fire pit.

THEFT – On July 17, 2015 at 7:41 pm, Officer Gina Bruno was dispatched to a residence on the 900 block of Pacific Avenue for a theft report.  Upon her arrival the resident reported that a car stereo was stolen from a vehicle left parked in the roadway.  The incident occurred sometime between July 06 and July 16.  There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle and no other items appeared to have been taken.

THEFT – On July 17, 2015 at 8:45 pm, Patrolman Thomas Prince responded to an address on the 400 block of Neptune Avenue for a theft report.  The resident reported that 11 Tiki solar landscape lights valued at approximately $90.00 were taken from the property.  The incident occurred sometime between July 15th and July 17th.

THEFT – On July 18, 2015, Patrolman Dennis Allen was dispatched to a residence on Walnut Street, where the resident was reporting that tools were stolen from a garage.  The resident reported that a green Crafstman tool chest with various tools inside was removed from the garage.  The resident was unsure of the exact date the items went missing.

FIRE – On July 19, 2015, Patrolman Justin Apel, along with the Beachwood Fire Company responded to a residence on the 1400 block of Mermaid Avenue for a fire alarm activation.  The cause of the alarm was determined to be a faulty detector.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF – On July 19, 2015, Patrolman Thomas Prince, while on routine patrol observed orange spray paint on the sidewalk in the rear of the Beachwood Elementary School.  There was no one in the area at the time and a report was logged and school personnel were notified.

THEFT – On July 20, 2015, Officer Gina Bruno was dispatched to a residence on the 1400 block of Windward Avenue for a theft report.  Upon the officers arrival, the resident reported that a vehicle parked in the driveway was entered and items were taken.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Adam Griesemer who has been assigned to follow up.
