August 13, 2016 thru August 26, 2016

Shoplifting – On August 13, 2016 at 12:51pm, Patrolman Andrew Altman was dispatched to the Rite Aid for a first aid call and shoplifting report.  Upon the officers arrival store personnel directed him to a female who had stole 2 cans of Blow Off Duster spray and it was believed that the female may have been inhaling the spray while in the store bathroom.  As a result the female, 32 years of age from Bayville was transported by Beachwood First Aid to Community Medical Center to be medically cleared and she was charged with shoplifting which is pending a court date.

Criminal Mischief – On August 14, 2016 at 12:40am, Patrolman Chad Anthony responded to a residence on the 1000 block of Mizzen Avenue for damage to a garage door.  The resident reported that someone was heard banging on the garage door which caused damage.  The resident did not see anyone and had no further information.

Theft – On August 13, 2016 at 6:28pm, Officer William Manganiello was dispatched to a residence on the 1200 block of Neptune Avenue for a theft report.  The resident stated that a lawnmower was taken from their front lawn area.  The mower was described as a red push lawn mower and was only left for a short period of time before someone took it.

Found Bike – On August 15, 2016 at 7:01pm, Officer Gina Bruno was requested to respond to a residence on Maple Street for a found bicycle.  The resident advised that the bike has been on the corner of their property for approximately two weeks.  The bike, described as a 16 inch Schwinn girls petal patch 2.0, was transported to headquarters and stored as found property pending owner identification.

Theft – Patrolman Adam O’Connor responded to the 1100 block of Anchor Avenue on August 16, 2016 at 1:08pm for a theft report.  Upon his arrival he met a resident who advised that their lawn mower was taken from their front yard area.  The mower was described as a Toro 22 inch self propelled red lawn mower.  No one was seen in the area at the time of the incident.

Found Bike – On August 22, 2016 at 1:44pm, Officer William Manganiello was dispatched to the CVS store on Atlantic City Boulevard for a found bicycle.  The officer took possession of the bicycle after the store manager advised that the bicycle was left at the store for over 24 hours.  The bicycle is described as a Mongoose Mountain bike style.

Theft – On August 22, 2016 at 4:10pm, Patrolman Keith Meissner took a report from a resident who reported that a dock line and hose were taken from their boat located at the boat slips along Compass Avenue.

Fire Call – On August 23, 2016 at 4:25am, Patrolman Anthony and Patrolman Carlisle responded to a structure fire on the 500 block of Halliard Avenue.  Upon their arrival they confirmed that all residents were out of the home and then assisted the fire company with securing the area.  Beachwood Fire Company responded and took control of the scene during fire suppression efforts.  The fire was extinguished but the home suffered extensive fire damage.  Detective Allen Magory arrived and conducted the follow up investigation along with members of the Ocean County Fire Marshalls Office.  The fire was determined to be accidental.

DWI – On August 23, 2016 at 9:32pm, Officer Gina Bruno was dispatched to the area of Oak Street and Neptune Avenue for a subject asleep in a vehicle at the stop sign.  Upon the officers arrival, the vehicle and driver were located.  The officer upon awaking the driver, detected an odor of alcohol.  As a result of the officers investigation, the driver, Michael Ducoli, 33 of Bayville was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.  He was transported to Beachwood Police Headquarters for processing and was released to a friend.

Theft – On August 25, 2016, Patrolman Dennis Allen responded to a residence on Maple Street for a reported stolen check.  The resident advised that the theft may have occurred sometime between August 19 and August 25.  There were visitors to the home during that time and the resident is unsure who may have stolen the check.  The case has been referred to the detective bureau for follow up.

Drug Arrest – On August 26, 2016 at 8:00pm,  Lt. Glen DeMarco along with detectives were conducting a follow up investigation which lead them to an address on Pennant Avenue.  During that investigation, a male subject identified as Joey Vasquez Jr, 36 of Beachwood was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.  The subject was summonsed and released.
